MANILA, Philippines — Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula will hold mass today for the opening of the Catholic Holy Yearfortunejack, also known as Jubilee.

A 3 p.m. pilgrimage starting at Plaza Moriones in Fort Santiago will be followed by a 5 p.m. mass at the Manila Cathedral.

Caloocan Bishop Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David has urged Catholics to make the Jubilee a time for spiritual renewal and structural reform within the church.

Pope Francis opened the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican on Christmas Eve, launching the Jubilee year of Catholic celebrations, which are set to draw over 30 million pilgrims to Rome.

The Jubilee will run until Jan. 6fortunejack, 2026, the Feast of the Epiphany.
